Category: Accessible Games
Hi all,
Well, i've never been much of a game person, but I've recently been on the uk audio network site, and I've played some of the games over there. It was sort of my first experience with gaming, and I'm not good at them, because sooner or later, you have to answer a quiz question, and I'm not too intelectual, so I failed the first time miserably.
The url is:
www.yrguk.com.
They have other things there besides games, but that's for anotherboard. The neat thing is, when you're on the site, you don't need a screen reader, because it has audio on every page you go to. There's a human voice telling you exactly what to do. You just press numbers on the keyboard. I can't recall all the options, but the importan one for this topi is number 5, the entertainment section. When you get to the entertainment section, you're told the number to press to get to the game room.
The first game I played was liar liar. He makes a statement about a word or definition, and you have to decide if he's telling the truth or lying. If you think he's telling the truth, you press 1, and if you think he's lying, you press 2. if you get a question wrong, you have to start at the beginning. but if you keep getting put back at the beginning, and they're multiple choice questions, youcan't help get the right answer sooner or later, lol.
There's their newest game, jungle feather where you're in the jungle and you have to take the right path. The first time i played, I took the wrong fork and got killed when 2 walls came crashing in on me.
Well, on to my question before I overshoot my character limit. Are there any games on here you play by yourself, or do you have to play with or against other people? I'd think I'd be better off playing with myself, especially since I'm new at this, and I'm terrible at quizes, and not too fast.
Also, how many games have sounds? I usually use my flextalk, but I use doubletalk for whenever sounds and audio are involved. Thanks all, and all have a good day/night.
wonderwoman
almost every game made in the internet and in CD have sounds. But if you are talking about accesible games, there are already a good 100 or more. If you want a complete or a great resource go to www.audiogames.net
Wonderwoman, here ont he Zone, you're basically playing with yourself, unless you count the fact that the games are timed and so on. And for Annagrams, there's the daily contest. But you're playing by yoruself here, never against another player. There's stuff liek that on AllInPlay.com. But the rest of the audio games for the blind out there are with sounds.
Hope this helps.
